KHE ACS + Stereo Setups

The KHE is a mono amp cab switcher. Only one amp can be activated and played at the time. It is not possible to activate two or more amps simultaneously and play them in stereo. There are no workarounds or setup tricks to make this possible. Do not try to outsmart a single KHE’s routing to use it in stereo - it doesn’t end well (warranty void). Maybe there will be future KHE products that allow such functionality. To stay informed, send us a message.

The KHE's normal linking function does not enable playing two amps simultaneously; it is designed to expand the switching channels. Learn more: Linking KHE Switchers (coming soon)

The only possible, although limited, KHE ACS stereo setup that allows to use two rigs at the same time would be to use two separate KHE switchers, such as two 8x4s with an transformer-isolated splitting box in front of the amp switcher guitar inputs. With this type of setup, the amp/cab choice is limited to one side each. It's not possible to share or mix amps or cabs across multiple units. The two amp switchers must be completely isolated from each other; they do not connect to each other in any way. For this, this must be a high-quality splitting box or A/B/Y box with a transformer for signal isolation on one of the outputs, such as the Lehle P-Split. Cheap devices without transformer will not work. If the grounds are not isolated properly, resulting in a ground loop, the system will not function correctly. When using a passive splitting box, it is strongly recommended to run a pedal with a good buffer in front to avoid excessive load on the passive guitar pickups (the Lehle does not need it; it’s a high-impedance transformer).

If using individual pedal boards for each rig, make sure to use isolated 9V power for each rig (don’t use daisy-chain power adapters between the rigs).
