The KHE AFX8-MV is an extension unit for the ACS8×4 and ASX8. It connects and switches the fx-loops of 8 amps to a global Master-FX-Loop and Master Volume control. The AFX enables to share post-effects like Delay, Reverb, Chorus, Noise Gates and such in the fx-loops of all amps. Multi-effect units can also be used in 4-Cable-Method with all connected amps. The AFX8-MV also has a new Master Volume control, enabling to control the volume of all amps.

The AFX only works in combination with the KHE ACS 8x4 or ASX 8. It has no standalone function or operation and is not compatible with amp switchers from other companies. The ACS4x4FX-MV has the same functionality built-in, but for just 4 amps (compact 1u unit).

Master-FX-Loop: The effects are connected to the AFX Master-FX-Loop. Additionally, all amp fx-loops (send/return) are connected to the AFX. This enables the AFX to automatically switch the effect pedals to loop of the activated amp on the ACS. The Master-FX-Loop can be true-bypassed for each amp. The bypass state is saved for each amp and is loaded automatically when switching amps on the ACS. It is a serial mono post-amp fx-loop and works with all types of mono effects.

Master Volume: The AFX Master Volume control can reduce the volume of all connected amps by up to -20 dB. It works in the fx-loop of the amps and controls the master FX return level of the ACS (post-fx). It is not an attenuator for speaker levels.

Link Mode: Multiple AFX and ACS switchers can be linked and daisy-chained to expand the system (i.e 24x16FX).

MIDI Control: The AFX can be fully controlled by any MIDI footswitch via CC or PC commands.

Compatibility: Works with all types of mono guitar effects: Delay, Reverb, Chorus, Noise Gates, EQ, Switching Systems, Multi-Effects, also in 4-Cable-Method.

IMPORTANT: The AFX only works with amps that have the fx-loop connected. If an amp has no fx-loop, or if no fx-loop is connected, the AFX won’t work. It cannot add an fx-loop to an amp that does not have one. The AFX only works in combination with a KHE ACS 8x4 or ASX8. It has no standalone function or operation and is not compatible with amp switchers from other companies. The AFX is not a multi-pedal-switcher like a Voodoo Lab GCX or RJM Effect Gizmo.

• No Sound Coloration: The ACS is as transparent and true to the sound as it gets. No signal-loss, no change in dynamics or tone, no coloration or added noise.

• No Ground Loops or Hum: The KHE ACS is a fully isolated design. It does not tie all the amp grounds together, like some other amp switchers do. Everything is nicely isolated, without any ground loops or hum.

• Relay Signal Switching: All signal switching is performed via high-quality relays, digitally controlled by a microcontroller (the toggle switches don’t switch any audio signals). A relay matrix switches between amplifiers and load devices up to 150 W RMS.

• Silent Switching: A special soft-mute circuit removes any clicks and pops during the switching. Switching between amps or loads is quieter than most amp channel changes, and the signal path remains completely transparent without added noise or coloration.

• Full MIDI Control: The ACS can be safely controlled by any MIDI footswitch or Stream Deck.

• High-Quality Construction: Built in Switzerland, the ACS uses premium components: 2mm PCB with NEUTRIK jacks, OMRON relays, high-quality toggle switches, all housed in a robust 19" 1u rack enclosure made of steel.
